Most community platforms shipped a chatbot, called it "AI", and added a tier. Civup is different: AI is built into six core workflows so the platform actually does the busy work — importing, moderating, drafting, matching, surfacing, summarizing.

Included on every plan

AI is core to the product, not an upsell. We don't gate moderation behind "Premium AI" or charge per generation.

Editable, not autonomous

AI drafts. Humans publish. Every AI output is review-able and revertible. We surface confidence scores so you know when to trust the model and when not to.

Your data stays yours

We do not use Your Content to train any third-party foundation model. AI processing happens server-side; outputs and inputs are not retained beyond the request unless you explicitly save them.

Pluggable providers

We default to a sensible model per task. Operators can swap providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, local) per workflow if they have compliance or cost preferences.

AI imports

Bulk-import any source. AI handles classification, dedup, and the descriptions you didn't have time to write.

  • AI category assignment from name + description, with confidence scores
  • Fuzzy duplicate detection across name, address, phone, and geo proximity
  • Auto-merge or hold-for-review based on configurable confidence threshold

  • Geocodes street addresses; reverse-geocodes lat/lng pairs

AI moderation

Real-time scoring on every member submission. Obvious spam disappears; edge cases surface to a human queue with the AI rationale attached.

  • Comments, listings, reviews, profiles, and event submissions all scored
  • Configurable thresholds for auto-remove vs. queue-for-human
  • Multi-signal: spam, off-topic, profanity, PII, impersonation
  • Each flag includes the AI's reasoning so moderators can second-guess fast
  • Auto-suspend repeat offenders after configurable strike count
  • Daily moderation digest emailed to community admins

A one-line prompt becomes a draft. For listings, blog posts, event copy, or email campaigns. Always editable, never auto-published.

Members and visitors ask questions in plain language. Civup answers from your own listings, posts, and events.

  • Semantic search via embeddings beyond keyword FTS
  • Geo-aware: "near me" actually means near them
  • Multi-intent: "kid-friendly Italian with outdoor seating open Sunday"
  • Cited results — every answer links to source listings
  • Per-tenant tuning: boost categories, suppress others
  • Falls back gracefully to traditional search if confidence is low
